Bio
Leo Gallery is a Singer/Songwriter living in Englewood, Colorado. Leo performs under the name of his maternal grandfather and is also a member of the Denver area Punk/Rock band Owosso(Instagram: owosso122). Owosso currently plays shows around the Denver area and is actively recording for future releases.
Leo grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Earliest musical memories were listening to “My Ding-A-Ling” by Chuck Berry and “Jackie Blue” by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils on a cassette tape his cousin Larry made for him. A love for cheesy pop music was instantly born. He began playing guitar at the age of 18 to the delight of 1’s of people. His first guitar was a gift from his mother, Geraldine, who agreed to buy the guitar if Leo promised not to play anything in her vicinity. Early reviews were glowing: “Your guitar playing doesn’t really make any sense” and “You know, not everyone was born to be a singer”. With all this new encouragement, Leo began playing open mic’s in the Chicago area, eventually meeting future personal and musical partner, Laura Hooper. The 2 began singing and playing together in various forms and formats. One thing led to another and the duo found themselves in a tiny little A-Frame outside of Denver in the Town Of Conifer. They bought a tape machine heavier than a washing machine and began recording as much as possible. There they also added a new type of collaboration to the portfolio: makin’ babies. Oliver soon joined the fold followed by Lucie. The musical and personal partnership folded but Laura can still be heard making music all over the Denver area and parts unknown.
In 2014, Leo formed the band Flowlines with drummer Sam Schiller and bass player John Thiltgen. 2017 found the release of the Flowlines debut “Awake”. Sam and John moved on to greener pastures and the band was soon filled out by Zac Thompson on bass and guitar and Patrick McHenry on drums. 2019 and 2020 saw the release of a few singles and compilation tracks. Flowlines went shit heels up at the start of the pandemic and have no current plans of performing. The future may include possible releases of new Flowlines music.
Owosso released their first single Spider in the Stone/Sweetness on June 2nd, 2023. Another single is expected to be dropped October/November of 2023 with a full length record in 2024.
Leo also occasionally records and performs as Horseluvr Fat, an electronic music project for better or worse. Young son Oliver can often be found collaborating on various projects.
